Let’s be honest: it’s probably only a matter of time before they’re all available for purchase. Some of the eye-catching examples include Belle’s “BFF: Beast Friends Forever” shirt, Cinderella’s shirt with a carriage and “GTG” on it, Elsa’s “Just Let It Go” (styled after Nike’s “Just Do It),” and Anya’s shirt with a sandwich on it, with “Finish Each Other’s” written on the bread. One element of the scene that won’t break the internet, but might break the bank come Christmastime, are all the individualized t-shirts each Disney Princess wears when they're relaxing. However, since Pamela Ribon was such an excellent Snow White in the temp track (and since the original star, Adriana Caselotti, passed away in 1997), she still plays the original Disney Princess in Ralph Breaks the Internet. And of course, they reassembled every original voice actor that they could for the final sequence. Not only did they talk to the original cast members, whenever possible, but they also interviewed the actors who play the Disney Princesses at Disneyland to capture the performance styles that have become the standard for all the characters. To get into the characters, the crew visited the experts.

And the complex task of figuring out how tall the princesses are, relative to one another, had to be decided by the scientific process of putting the official figurines next to each other. It was difficult to be faithful to Cinderella’s original design when she lets her hair down, for example, since the original character never let her down, and kept her ears perpetually hidden under her hair or a band. The characters were designed in different styles, and some of them in unexpected ways. The scene as originally scripted is almost identical to the scene that made it to the big screen, but it represented several logistical problems for the filmmakers. And I laid down on the floor, and I was like, ‘I’m either going to be fired, or this might be a big deal.’” It was a big deal. “So I wrote the scene and I read it, and then I had a panic attack. She went on to make a list of all the famous Disney Princess tropes, and even telephoned her friend and Disney co-worker, Elise Aliberti about how many of the official princesses were kidnapped or enslaved. “And that’s when I started thinking, if she met all the other princesses, I assume the first question would be ‘What kind of princess are you?’” Ribon explains. “And so I thought, we talked about what if Vanellope met all the princesses? In this version and one of the early versions we thought maybe Vanellope was going to go viral, and I thought well yeah, if she met all the princesses that might break the internet. “It would be fun to do a scene of Disney poking fun at itself,” Ribon says. In a presentation at Disney Animation, she explained the origin of the sequence, which takes place as Vanellope - who has entered the internet with her best friend Ralph, in an attempt to buy a replace arcade cabinet part on eBay - is traveling to to drum up publicity for Ralph’s viral videos. The sequence was the creation of screenwriter Pamela Ribon, who previously co-wrote Moana. It’s a confrontation that goes in unexpected directions, from the classic princesses’ inability to understand why Vanellope has never been kidnapped and why she doesn’t have “daddy issues,” but at least they can bond with their shared frustration when the male characters get all the credit for saving the day, and their mutual love of comfortable clothes. That’s where we got our first glimpse of a scene where Vanellope von Schweetz, the princess (and president) of the video game Sugar Crush, came face-to-face with all the other Disney Princesses in the green room of. The upcoming Wreck-It Ralph sequel is called Ralph Breaks the Internet, and that’s practically what it did, at least amongst Disney fans, when the trailer first premiered.
